Born and trained in Romania, Clarissa Boeriu received her B.A. in Dance from the National School of Arts, Choreography Department, and her Master’s Degree in Philosophy/Pedagogy from Babes-Bolyai University, both in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Mrs. B. went on to become a full Company member and then principal dancer with the National Opera House of Cluj-Napoca. Her repertoire included: Swan Lake, Giselle, Coppelia, Carmen Suite, The Fountain of Bakhchisarai, Don Quixote, Esmeralda, Cinderella, Paquita, The Miraculous Mandarin, Odyssea, Salome, Sheherazade, Four Seazon, Les Sylphides, Bolero, Brincusi Atrilogy, Miorita, L’apres-midi d’un Faune, Poesis, Hansel and Gretel, Faust, Aida, Lakme, Traviata, Samson et Dalila and The Pearl Fishers. Mrs. B. served five years on the faculty of the National School of Arts, Choreography Department, Romania, where she was invited to participate on the coaching team for the Romanian participants in the international ballet competitions in Moscow and Varna, Bulgaria. Since 1989, Mrs. B has been a guest faculty member of the Ballet San Jose (formerly Cleveland-San Jose Ballet). She is the former Artistic Director/Choreographer of the Channel Islands Ballet (1992-1998), co-founder and Artistic Director/Choreographer (1999-2001) of the Ventura County Ballet Company, and, in 2002, founder, Artistic Director and principal teacher of All American Ballet School & Company. In 2006, Mrs. B was honored with the Mayor’s Arts Award for Arts Educator in recognition of her rich history of artistic achievement and contribution to Ventura’s cultural community. During her tenure in Ventura, Clarissa Boeriu has created and choreographed more than twenty full-length productions including The Nutcracker, Firebird, Peter & the Wolf, The Fairy Doll, Hansel & Gretel and The Enchanted Forest. |

MARGARIDA EIDSON – Ballet Faculty Born and trained in Portugal, Ms. Eidson began her primary dance training at the age of five under the instruction of Elsa Roquette and Bento da Camara. In 1976, she was accepted to the National Conservatory Dance School of Lisbon, Portugal, where she completed the seven year Ballet and Fine Arts program in five years. The Conservatory is the only ballet school in Portugal to be officially recognized and to have integrated schooling, accepting only those students who demonstrate capabilities for a career in dance. From 1980 to 1985, Ms. Eidson performed with the National Dance Company of Portugal in such productions as Carmina Burana, La Sylphide, Romeo and Juliet, Tchaikovsky’s Serenade, Preludes of Chopin, Five Tangos and Swan Lake. During this time, she also taught at several pre-schools and ballet schools in Lisbon and attended summer courses with the Royal School of Ballet in London, England and the Washington School of Ballet in Washington, D.C. Ms. Eidson moved to D.C. in 1986, where she attended the American University Human Resources Management Program, married and started a family. She and her family moved to Ventura in 1998 where she is currently raising four boys. Ms. Eidson joined the All American Ballet School faculty in the summer of 2008.
Ms. Nachazel began her ballet training at the age of five in Covina, California. She became a member of San Gabriel Ballet, followed by studies in an intensive program with the San Francisco Ballet. She then became a Company member of the Los Angeles Ballet Company under the direction of Johnny Clifford. After moving to the Ventura area, Ms. Nachazel continued her training with Mara Lysova and Selma Lamb and has danced and taught in local companies including Ballet Drala, Channel Islands Ballet, Ventura County Ballet and All American Ballet Company. She performed such roles as Snow Queen and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker for the Channel Islands Ballet and various roles in works such as The Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Peter and the Wolf for All American Ballet. Ms. Nachazel joined the faculty of All American Ballet in 2004.
Ms. Wallace has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine, and previously trained in classical ballet with AAB’s Clarissa Boeriu for twelve years from the age of five. At UCI she was a member of the prestigious Etude Dance Ensemble directed by Donald McKayle and Caleb Mitchell. Robyn spent her summers in leading ballet intensive programs including the Rock School of Ballet in Philadelphia, Boston Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Ballet Austin and Ballet Met in Columbus, Ohio. Robyn has performed principal roles in full length ballets such as Sanctuary (choreographed by Donald McKayle and Caleb Mitchell), Pas De Deux (by Jodie Gates), The Nutcracker, Hansel and Gretel and Fairy Doll Ballet (by Clarissa Boeriu), as well as solo and ensemble roles in Midnight Dancer and Rainbow Suite (by Donald McKayle), Artifact Suite (by William Forsythe), Seascape (by Molly Lynch), A Spider’s Reverie (by Shannon Cycendall), Color Club and Designated Paths (by Caleb Mitchell). Robyn is currently dancing with Santa Barbara Ballet and for six years had been a substitute teacher for AAB before joining AAB’s faculty.
Jason Coosner holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Dance with a concentration in Choreography from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. SMU’s Dance Program is one of the top five in the nation and Mr. Coosner was one of four, internationally, to be accepted as a 2007 candidate, having been awarded a full artistic scholarship for the duration of his studies from the Meadows School of the Arts. During his tenure, he studied under award-winning jazz dance legend Danny Buraczeski and contemporary jazz master Max Stone. Throughout his graduate studies, Mr. Coosner created three new, fully-produced dance works and taught Jazz Dance for three semesters. While is Dallas, he served as the Assistant Artistic Director for Collin County Ballet Theatre. He was also the Director of Musical Theatre and Contemporary Dance at Hathaway Academy of Ballet, one of Dallas’ premiere pre-professional performing arts schools, teaching classes in jazz, modern, ballet, tap, musical theatre and acting. Mr. Coosner also holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the professional training program at Elon University in North Carolina. Mr. Coosner currently teaches and choreographs in the Los Angeles area.
Ms. Curtis began competitive gymnastics at the age of six and, by the age of twelve, was winning state, regional and national titles. At age eleven, she began training in gymnastics and ballet at the National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics, which she continued for three years. She pursued her gymnastics training as a full scholarship athlete at UCLA, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a minor in Education, with an emphasis in Theatre arts. In her spare time, she served as a professor’s assistant to the head of the Education Department and a tutor to her fellow student athletes. She was also a member of the NCAA Division I National Champion Women’s Gymnastic Team. In 1999, she moved to New York City and was immediately launched into flight by De La Guarda, an Argentinian extreme aerial theatre company, with which she performed in New York, Las Vegas and Seoul, South Korea for three years. In 2002, Ms. Curtis founded Airealistic, a site-specific aerial theatre company, which creates shows for clients around the world. She has worked for such noted companies as Cirque du Soleil, the Olympics and L.A. Phil. Her most recent production is Le Reve, a long-running Las Vegas show, which she helped create for former Cirque du Soleil Director, Franco Dragone, for Steve Wynn in Las Vegas. Ms. Curtis is also a personal trainer in aerial theatre, gymnastics and nutrition. |
